What the hell. Not just Scotch, but absinthe, Swedish Punsch, … rum? I’ll admit some prejudice before we even get started.

“Quite possibly the most vile cocktail yet” says my drinking companion. I couldn’t say it better myself. I’m beginning to question Haigh’s sanity in even including such an awful thing. The book even says that this is a sophisticated, if challenging, beverage. I’m sorry, sophisticated and challenging describes a different beverage; the Modernista is but a mess of strong flavors that do not belong together.
