Honeymoon Cocktail
26 Mar 2012
The Honeymoon Cocktail. Alright, then. This calls for far more Benedictine than any cocktail thus far. I’m pretty okay with that. I’m discovering that the bitter richness of Benedictine is interesting to me, and it doesn’t seem to appear in a lot of things in contemporary cocktails. Seems like a shame.
The base of the drink is definitely the Calvados, with just a bit of orange and lemon. The complexity is added by the Benedictine, and it works pretty okay. As the drink warms the citrus-apple character comes out a lot. It’s interesting, if not altogether mind-blowing.
