East India Cocktail

30 Oct 2011

And so now were to make the East India.

So uh, that’s a bottle of Calvados instead of a bottle of brandy. Whoops. Anyway, biters, cherry liquor, a little orange, raspberry syrup and brown liquor – one can’t go wrong, you might think … and I’m inclined to agree this time. It’s a lovely cocktail, a little more red than brown (thank God), and is pretty delicious. Dangerous but a little too apple-flavored with the Calvados, it’s nice and pensive with Cognac instead. Not too sweet, but floral enough to be appealing to those that don’t like aggressive cocktails. This is nice. Here’s a terrible picture of both versions (apple version up front, if it matters):

Heres what an East India looks like.
