Straits Sling

According to the book, the only reason I can see for this cocktail existing is its seminality. Even the accompanying text more or less suggests this is the best of a bunch of mediocre cocktails that ultimately developed into a drink with staying power.

Straights Slight

What’s weird is I expect a lot more flavor out of this one. It was relatively mild in the final preparation wtihout the richness or complexity I expected, given all of the ingredients (and alcohol). Bummer, but I guess there’s a reason that this evolved into something, rather than sticking around?
