Jack Rose Cocktail
08 Apr 2012
The Jack Rose is restoring my faith in this dusty cocktail book. After a string of relatively lackluster showings, finally we’re getting somewhere. The ingredients aren’t much to look at; basically we have a daiquiri with grenadine and applejack instead of rum and simple syrup. I’m okay with that. A daiquiri is a respectable cocktail.
Preparation is simple, as you’d expect. Strain the citrus, shake vigorously, and double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a wheel, twist, or whatever else you feel like.
The acid in the drink is well moderated by the sweetness and richness of the beverage, and it works quite nicely. Highly recommended.
